Sinead O'Connor's family issues emotional statement 'thanking' fans one month after singer's death

One month on from Sinead O'Connor's death, her children and extended family have thanked fans for the outpouring of support they've received.
Hundreds of mourners took to the streets of Bray, County Wicklow to pay their respects on Tuesday, August 8 at the singer's funeral.
The likes of Sir Bob Geldof and U2 frontman Bono were also in attendance alongside O'Connor's close friends and family.
O'Connor was laid to rest in a traditional Muslim burial at a Catholic ceremony following a private funeral in her hometown.
Three weeks on from her funeral, O'Connor's family took the time to "thank the countless kind people who sympathised and offered condolences on Sinéad’s recent passing".
In a statement published in the Irish Times, O'Connor's loved ones added: "Their helpful support for the family is much appreciated."

PAThey also thanked Ireland's president Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina as well as An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD for also attending the funeral.
Thanks were also given to "Dingle Druid Juli Ní Mhaoileóin for her leading of the funeral service and later, the interment ceremonies in the lovely Garden in Deansgrange Cemetery".
And the statement continued: "Further thanks to Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri and his colleagues for the Muslim prayers and blessing of Sinéad at both these ceremonies.
"Our thanks to the musicians who played at the funeral service where Pauline Scanlon sang, accompanied by Éamonn De Barra and Donogh Hennessy.
"More beautiful music was made at the graveside by Síle Denvir, Nicola Joyce, Noriana Kennedy, Éilis Kennedy and Damien Dempsey."
The family went on to brand the gathering which took place after the funeral as "excellent in every respect".
"Sinéad’s life was celebrated there by a host of her friends in music who helped to ease the burden of sorrow at Sinéad’s passing," they added.
Thanks also went out to the funeral directors and those who facilitated transporting O'Connor's body to Ireland as well as the media for "showing respect for the privacy requested by the family".
The statement concluded with one final thank you to O'Connor's fans across the globe and paid special mention to the ones who took part in the funeral procession.

O’Connor is survived by her son Jake Reynolds, 36, daughter Roisin Waters, 27, and youngest child Yeshua Bonadio, 16.
Her son Shane died by suicide in January 2022 aged just 17.
