Scarlett Moffatt hits back after being 'mum-shamed' over eight-week-old son's outfit choice
New mum Scarlett Moffatt has responded to her social media followers who criticised the star for a recent snap of her eight-week-old son, Jude.
Moffatt had shared a series of snaps of the tot meeting several members of her family but she fell victim to "mum-shaming" remarks about her son's footwear.
Moffatt had captioned the post: "How do I have a 2 month old baby already!?
"Spending the whole weekend with my family for my Nanny’s 70th. We played bingo, did quizzes, ate burnt sausages from the bbq it was perfectly imperfect.
"We’ve all laughed from start to finish & Jude even went in a pool for the first time #love #family."
In the first photo shared on Instagram, Jude could be seen being cradled while wearing a denim jacket, corduroy trousers and white trainers.

This prompted one fan to hit out: "Why do people feel the need to put shoes on a baby that young?
"We are forced to wear shoes for the rest of our lives from a certain age why make them wear them now let there toes be free."
And a second added: "Even when he starts to cruise around furniture he should be bare foot or in padder.
"Not a fashionista……does not need to be a fashion baby! Care of feet are so vitally important."
But Moffatt decided to look on the bright side, thanking other followers for their compliments while explaining the wardrobe choice for her son.
Among the comments, she typed: "Thanks for all the lovely comments- also these are the Nike soft bottom crib shoe they’re not trainers xx."
A number of Moffatt's followers rushed to defend her, with one fan weighing in: "Beautiful! I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have to explain or justify what you choose to dress your baby in!"
While a second hit back at the critics: "Mum shaming is disgusting. Honestly no words." (sic)
