The Maggie May hitmaker has had to cancel a string of shows of late
Sir Rod Stewart, 79, has received a public display of support from musician Jools Holland as he continues to recover from a series of health woes.
In the past week, Stewart has had to cancel a handful of shows Stateside after contracting strep throat and days later, being diagnosed with COVID-19.
His latest health battles come just days after he admitted in an interview that his "days were numbered" when it came to his age and declining health - although he still has no plans to stop touring for good.
Stewart embarked on a new venture earlier this year alongside close pal Holland as part of his never-ending work schedule.
The duo, whose careers both span decades, hadn't collaborated before but decided now was the time for them to get together and release their own swing album.
While Holland may not be on the East Coast of America with Stewart during his latest string of gigs, he has reached out after learning the 79-year-old has been forced to postpone.

Holland was one of the many well-wishers reacting to Stewart's COVID-19 health announcement, in which he said: "We regret to announce that tonight's Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, NV and his August 10 show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, as the singer recovers from a summer strain of COVID-19.
"The Lincoln, CA concert at Thunder Valley Casino will now be August 18 and his concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Statateline, NV concert will now be August 20.
"Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows."
Among the comments, Holland weighed in as he typed: "Get well soon dear pal."
The heartwarming gesture garnered over a dozen likes from Stewart's fellow followers.
News of Stewart's COVID-19 diagnosis came just 48 hours after he cancelled his 200th show special in Vegas, leaving his "absolutely gutted".
Similarly, Stewart broke the news on Instagram, writing: "I'm desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me.
"I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.
"Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there."
Stewart's wife Penny Lancaster has spoken out since her spouse's health woes were made public and while she didn't address them directly, did thank fans for their ongoing support in a heartfelt statement.

Shortly after the cancellation of Stewart's Vegas show, Lancaster wrote on social media: "Thank you to the 200k followers who have supported the moments I’ve shared with everyone.
"I hope that through my posts I have been able to connect with you and provide joy and inspiration but above all the message that kindness and compassion is the true gift of nature.
"Something we should aspire to project amongst one another each day, even though from time to time we slip up, it’s important to reconnect to that place."
Stewart is tipped to return to the stage on Sunday evening for those keen to see the Do Ya Think I'm Sexy singer back in action.
