The 79-year-old cancelled another show earlier in the week

Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel two further gigs just days after pulling out of his 200th Las Vegas show as he battles a string of conditions.

After announcing he had strep throat on Wednesday, the 79-year-old has now been struck with Covid-19, and in a social media post made late on Friday night, it was confirmed his next two US shows wouldn't be going ahead. Rushing to the comments, heartbroken fans wished him well and issued a plea to the Handbags and Gladrags singer.

Earlier this week, the rocker announced he was "absolutely gutted" about having to cancel the Vegas show but assured fans he'd be returning in 2025.

He went on to admit: "most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me". The cancellation came as a concern to fans as it was announced just days after Stewart had made a troubling health admission.

The Maggie May hitmaker claimed he had accepted the fact his days are "numbered". While fans were disappointed by the cancellation, they urged him to take care of himself and many expressed their worries for the legendary musician.

On Saturday, Stewart was due to perform at Stateline in Nevada, followed by a show at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California. However, an Instagram post in view of Stewart's 1.4million followers confirmed he'd had to cancel once again.

A statement read: "We regret to announce that tonight's Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, NV and his August 10 show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, as the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19.

"The Lincoln, CA concert at Thunder Valley Casino will now be on August 18 and his concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, NV concert will now be August 20. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows."

Once again, fans rushed to support the singer in the comments section, but concert-goers who'd made the journey pleaded with Stewart to give more notice when pulling out of a show.

One concerned fan wrote: "Sir Rod please rest up, it’s a shame but we need you to get okay."

"Get well soon @sirrodstewart," another wrote. A third fan echoed this, adding: "Get well soon @sirrodstewart. Love You FOREVER."

"Rod's health is far more important. I hope, he will be feeling better soon," someone else penned.

Another simply read: "Get well soon rod". However, some who had been impacted by the cancellation deemed the last-minute notice "unfair".

"4 hours before it starts is so unfair. Your team knew tonight wasn’t happening. Why announce so late? We drive from Sacramento, got hotel and other expenses. Very disappointed," one complained.

Responding, another wrote: "Same we were on our way from Tracy and got the notification. We turned around and went home. No refund for the hotel either."

"Second time going to his concert, only to have it canceled. very frustrating to make plans, spend all the money getting there(that can’t be refunded) to have it canceled again. Would be nice to know 24 hours ahead and not 3. Feel better," another commented. (sic)

It comes not long after Stewart sparked outrage among Trump supporters after he poked fun at the former US president.

Some fans became furious after he performed at the Colosseum in Vegas when a post from X depicting four different photos of Trump was projected on stage for all to see.

The images showed a progressively deeper orange colour in each, and as he shared the moment on Instagram, Stewart penned: "I didn't know he was Orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn Orange.

"I respect either one, but he obviously doesn't because all of a sudden he made a turn and he went - he became an Orange person. I think somebody should look into that." (sic)

The comments mirror those Trump made about rival presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The Republican candidate stated he was unaware Harris was Black until "all of a sudden, she made a turn and she went… she became a black person".

However, many of Stewart's fans have slammed him online for sharing his political stance, with several urging him to "stick to music".
