The audience member in question was compared to Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley by the comic

The woman who was one of two people thrown out of a recent Peter Kay gig has spoken out following her ejection from the crowd.

At the AO Arena on Saturday, February 8, Kay - who has since said he had "no choice" - ordered security to remove heckler Myar Curran and one other man after finding them disruptive.

The initial disruption occurred when a male member of the audience repeatedly shouted "garlic bread" during Kay's set.

The man was removed by security soon after but when Curran proceeded to yell from the crowd following the incident, Kay ordered members of staff to remove her too.

In doing so, Kay compared Curran to Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, a comparison the soap star has since defended the comedian for.

However, while Riley may not seem irked, Curran clearly isn't ready to let bygones be bygones, saying on TV on Friday: "(I'm) just gutted really. Like, I feel a bit humiliated.

"I didn't mean to cause any harm, I was just showing my love because he kicked someone out so I thought I'd stand up and say, 'We love you, Peter', But he obvisouly didn't like it."

The Good Morning Britain reporter than asked her: "Do you think he had the right to throw you out?"

But Curran defended herself: "I feel like what I said wasn't abusive, wasn't aggressive, wasn't anti-social - I wasn't drunk.

"I was just standing up chanting, 'We love you Peter, we do'.

"And I feel like it's just been taken a bit overboard and over the top, his reaction."

Curran told the ITV news show that she didn't want an apology from Kay, but she'll no longer be attending his gigs.

Curran's public statement comes days after Kay issued a post of his own defending his decision to remove the audience members.

In doing so, Kay also dismissed any suggestion he was mocking Curran with his Lisa Riley jibe, insisting he didn't realise it could be perceived as an insult.

He penned: "At the show on Saturday night, February 8th, in Manchester I had two hecklers disrupting from the very start.

"I did my best to address the situation and made light of it, as any comedian would, but unfortunately, their interruptions continued.

"I then tried to ignore them, hoping they'd settle down, but when the disruption persisted into the second half of the show, I asked the audience around them if they were being bothered by the noise.

"They all shouted 'yes,' and when I asked for a show of hands, at least 40 raised theirs.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"At that point, I had no choice but to take action," he continued before referring to the Curran incident: "The lady who was escorted out did bear a striking resemblance to Lisa Riley, though I don't see how that's an insult.

"This was only the second and third time I've had to ask someone to leave during my 114 shows over the past three years of this tour.

"As a comedian, you never want to eject anyone, but when repeated disruptions make it impossible to continue, it's important to consider the experience for the rest of the audience, who've paid to see the show without interruption."

Fellow comedians including Russell Kane and Jason Manford have all spoken out to defend Kay following the mixed reaction he's since received.
