The Loose Women star was on hand to witness a historic moment in her hubby's career

Penny Lancaster, 53, has shared a gushing tribute to her husband Sir Rod Stewart, 79, and fellow musician Billy Joel, 75, following a joint gig the two played together.

In what was a memorable milestone in the Maggie May rocker's career, it marked the first time the duo had ever performed with one another - despite both spending decades in the spotlight.

Stewart joined the Piano Man singer on stage at his gig on Friday at Huntington Bank Field, Cleveland, Ohio - home of the NFL team, the Cleveland Browns.

The 67,000+ seater stadium looked packed to the brim as the two legendary musicians performed, with Joel on the keys and Stewart dancing his usual jive across the stage.

To mark the occasion, Lancaster and son Alastair Stewart, 18, were among the crowd cheering the 79-year-old on.

And gushing over the historic performance, Lancaster shared a snap of herself alongside her hubby, her son, Alastair's girlfriend Eloise Darlington, and Joel on social media.

Delving into her hubby's career first, she penned on Instagram: "A magical night witnessing for the first time ever a spectacular performance with @billyjoel & @sirrodstewart in Cleveland tonight.

"Two gents of the industry, two giants of music," she added alongside a praying emoji.

It didn't take long for fans to rush to the comments to remark on the momentous gig, with many expressing their dismay at missing out while others who attended echoed Lancaster's joy.

"Beautiful photo! This was an amazing evening," one follower penned. "So blessed to have both of my favorites, since childhood, on the same stage, in the best city in the world! Well done lads and thank you."

"Would have loved to have heard that, wow," a second weighed in before a third said: "It was a spectacular evening!! @penny.lancaster I hope you got to enjoy our beautiful city."

Elsewhere, a fourth commented: "Wow I bet that was amazing. Have seen BJ several times and RS but together...wow that would be fun!"

And a fifth simply surmised: "That would have been something to see."

Lancaster's son also shared a series of clips from the gig onto his own Instagram page, branding the performance "unreal".

The joyous update Stateside comes after both Lancaster and Stewart had to deny rumours of a rift over their current living situation.

Reports emerged to suggest Lancaster was keen to ditch life in the States to settle down back home in the UK while Stewart was reportedly refusing to sell his LA home.

In order to quash the rumours, Stewart put out a lengthy statement in which he rubbished the reports, first published by the Daily Mail.

And Lancaster soon followed suit as the pair put on a united front, with the Loose Women star reposting Stewart's statement on her own social media pages.

Just a few days later, Lancaster sent a clear message once again to put to rest any speculation she was finished with life in the US.

Branding it her "happy place", Lancaster shared a series of updates from some downtime in Florida before reuniting with her hubby for his Cleveland show with Joel.
