A mum who won a £1million jackpot in the National Lottery says that she feels “guilty” for spending her fortune.
Toni Henderson, 32, who won the impressive sum on a Lucky Dip ticket, initially thought that she had won £1,700 after believing she had only matched five numbers.
To her amazement, after logging into her account online, she saw that she had won a staggering £1million.
The 32-year-old said that the win was a huge relief after a few tough months, however conceded that she felt “guilty” for spending the money.

PADescribing her recent win, she said: “It gives my son the start he deserves and I want the money to last for our future. To be honest, I feel a bit guilty for spending it as I haven’t earned it. I am so unbelievably grateful but it’s going to take a lot of time to sink in.”
Henderson said that she has treated her son to some toys but still won’t buy him anything too expensive as “it doesn’t feel right to spend lots on things I wouldn’t have bought before”.
The mum said that despite the win, she intends to keep her job so that her son can learn the value of hard work.
She believes that to have “nice things in life”, you have to earn them - a message she is keen for her son to learn. Henderson also admitted that without work, she would likely become bored.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Discussing any future purchases, the mum said she eventually wants to buy a house, but before that, a car is first up on the wishlist.
She said she’s got her eyes set on a Kia Sportage. Henderson explained: “You think you’re going to get a flash one when you win, but I quickly realised that really isn’t me. I am just happy with the prospect of a new car - that’s a first for me.”
As well as treating herself, Henderson is also keen to treat others. She said she will gift her parents “something special”, and will also take her son on his first holiday abroad.
“I’m not a greedy person - I just want to help others really. I’ve helped out family members and I want to do something special for my mum and dad. No amount of money can repay them for all they have done for me. I am also going to take my son to Disney World Florida. You only live once and he has never been abroad,” she said.

GETTYWhilst Henderson is going to spend her winnings on holidays, a car, and an eventual home, a recent £1million lottery winner opted for something different.
The Norfolk woman, known only as Mrs G, won £1m after matching five main numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on April 13.
In an unusual move, the woman decided to splash her cash on a lawnmower as her first purchase.
However, she did say she has bigger ambitions to buy a bungalow.
