The legendary already has something exciting in the pipeline

Lulu, 75, has assured fans they'll be seeing plenty of her in the public eye after she draws to an end her remaining tour dates later this year.

The Shout singer extended her final tour after several dates sold out but she's made no secret of her desire to stop touring in the way she has done for decades once it's over.

Earlier this month, she joined actor Tom Hiddleston for a series of workshops at an Oxfordshire school but on Friday, she was starring on the airwaves for radio listeners.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2's Scott Mills, Lulu opened up about her decision to stop touring, her surprise nickname for Gary Barlow, and other highlights from her six-decade career.

But looking ahead, Mills couldn't resist trying to draw out a definitive answer about a possible exciting work project Lulu may have lined up.

"Just quickly, everyone's doing it at the moment... Robbie [Williams], Celine [Dion], the Beckhams... are you doing a documentary?" the radio host probed.

Delivering an exciting update, Lulu came clean: "Oh, yes. I think so! (laughs). I am - in the works, it's in the works."

However, she remained cryptic on the details: "I can't say anything more because it's not done yet but yeah, that's on the cards."

Lulu was able to discuss another work venture though: "I'm absolutely writing a memoir - I mean, I'm not writing it myself and I wouldn't pretend to do that, but it's because I have so many moment I can talk about.

"And I wouldn't say I've lied or told fibs, but I was never... I think I'm gonna be more... it is about honesty but truthful without being a kiss and tell book.

"(It's) more vulnerable than I've - I'm very talkative but I'm actually quite private so I will open up and talk about things that maybe are relatable and helpful maybe to young women.

"I think that's who it's mainly directed at."

Elsewhere in the interview, Mills quizzed Lulu on her decision to call time on touring after all these years.

"Your tour's been extended and for anyone who doesn't know, why is the tour called Champagne for Lulu?" he asked, prompting Lulu to reply: "Well because this is my 60th year and we thought we've got to have a good title for it.

"I'm lucky, I worked with Jennifer Saunders, I did several Ab Fab episodes when they were doing the series and I did the film and then one of my posse said, 'Do you know what would be a good title? Champagne for Lulu', and I thought, 'That's perfect!'

"So Jennifer then introduced me when I did the Palladium... the thing about doing this tour is that it sold out, it was kind of emotional because I'm just not going to do touring the way I've done it before - cramming the dates in etc.

"Jesus, give me a break! I'm 75! It's the travelling - when I'm on the stage, I'm at home - but the travelling that goes with it is exhausting.

"So I said I'm not doing this again (although) I will never stop working."
