The Don't Stop Believin' hitmakers won't be heading to Britain later this year
US rock band Journey has left a sour taste in the mouth of fans this side of the pond after seemingly cancelling their UK tour.
The rock group, famous for hits including Don't Stop Believin' and Separate Ways, were scheduled to perform a string of dates this autumn as part of the band's 50th Anniversary Freedom Tour alongside guests Cheap Trick.
Fans who'd purchased tickets to the 11-date tour later this year discovered the sad news on Tuesday - but were left in the dark as to why.
According to Planet Rock, a statement from the band confirming the cancellation read: “Due to circumstances beyond the band's control, Journey's UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately cancelled.
"Refunds will be made from your point of purchase."
Journey hasn't addressed the cancelled tour on any of their social media channels at the time of writing but The O2 London has removed the tour date from its site.

As news of the band's decision began to spread, Journey fans flocked to social media to slam the group for leaving them in the dark.
"I’m a ticket holder and all I got was an email saying cancelled. No explanation. Not good enough," fumed one music fan on X.
A second echoed: "I've been a fan practically my whole 31 years of life. Been waiting 10+ years for them to tour the UK again. Finally they do.
"I got close to stage tickets for their final UK tour date on their 50th Anniversary and then it gets cancelled with ZERO explanation!? I'm bl**dy gutted."

Complaints kept on coming as a third fumed: "Had tickets to see them at the O2 with flights. NO EXPLANATION?????. Don’t believe they care about there fans on this side of the pond. By the way saw TOTO in Barcelona last month (BRILLIANT)."
"Journey just cancelled their tour [crying emoji]. I was so excited for it too," a fourth disappointed X user penned.
Meanwhile, a fifth didn't hold back with their disappointment: "This is happening far too often now. Ticket holders are just being f***ed about. Those with non refundable hotels or transport booked lose money. It's not right."
While the band has merely stated the decision was due to "circumstances beyond their control", some fans have theorised it's down to rifts between two of its band members.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain had filed a lawsuit against bandmate Neal Schon - despite the pair currently touring the US.
According to documents hosted by Bloomberg Law, the suit was filed on July 30 in relation to Schon’s “expenses related to the tour”.

NME reports that the document claims that "Schon believes his role as president of Freedom 2020 authorises him to make decisions unilaterally on behalf of the company".
Cain is also believed to have claimed in the file that his bandmate's behaviour and spending “pose a severe threat of harm to the Company and to Journey’s storied history of musical greatness”.
Among the suit are claims that Schon would spend beyond agreed-upon limits for accommodation spending for him and his wife as well as book lavish business class flights.
Meanwhile, fans who'd hoped to see Journey perform in Cardiff and Nottingham in October or Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle and London in November will have to make rearrangements.
