John Hunt has shared a short but heartbreaking plea to the public via a friend following the deaths of his wife and two daughters.
Earlier this month, Hunt's wife Clare and two of his daughters, Hannah and Louise, were killed in a crossbow attack at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
The attack took place a week ago today and 26-year-old Kyle Clifford, who was found by police with life-threatening injuries following a manhunt, has been arrested.
Hunt and his other daughter Amy released a statement this week asking for space to come to terms with the tragedy and "start the grieving process".
Now, fellow racing commentator and close friend of Hunt's, Matt Chapman, has shed light on further gut-wrenching words from the BBC star.
After being in contact with Hunt, according to the Mirror, Chapman said: "He told me, 'Matty, the message I would tell everyone is you never know when it's going to be the last day you see your family'.

"The message was very clear: make the most of every day because you just don't know."
ITV racing commentator Chapman has been showing his support for Hunt and his family ever since the horrific murders last week.
Using his social media presence on X, Chapman urged his followers to contribute towards the family to help them through this horrendous time.
Sharing a link to a GoFundMe page set up for Hunt and his family, Chapman penned alongside: "To you all - friends, those with compassion and everyone in racing/sporting circles.

Chapman also leaped to Hunt's defence when one of his followers questioned why a GoFundMe page was necessary.
"Awful what’s happened, but why does he need money... seems affluent to me? What am I missing here," one X user asked, prompting Chapman to reply: "For a start nowhere to live right now, not working and people to support.
"But more importantly John was getting hundreds of messages asking how people can help - and he felt the best way was to get a pot of cash to help his daughter Amy be secure in difficult times ahead." (sic)
Tributes from far and wide have poured in for Hunt and his family since the murders last week, including from BBC Radio 5 Live colleague Mark Chapman.
