The Clarkson's Farm star defended social media as experts claimed it leads to laziness

Jeremy Clarkson was deemed the "sexiest man" in the UK last week and has reflected on the win, which saw him beating off opponents such as Idris Elba and Cillian Murphy.

The Clarkson's Farm star, 64, called himself "a bit of a porker" as he discussed his recent acknowledgement.

The former Top Gear star was discussing how some are blaming social media for laziness, but he argued TikTok inspires him to be more active.

As part of his column for The Telegraph, he wrote: "The main problem I have with this fat-makes-you-lazy theory is that I can think of lots of fat people with a good work ethic.

"Cyril Smith, for instance. He was very busy. So was Henry VIII. And so, if I’m honest, am I.

"Yes, I realise that I’m seen by many to be the sexiest man alive, but underneath the muddy tweed coats I am something of a porker. And I haven’t had a day off sick since the 1980s, when I was actually much thinner."

He went on to argue: "So I think that the people who conducted this study have got it the wrong way round.

"Fatness doesn’t make someone lazy. Lazy people become fat."

"As I have already explained, I wake sometimes on a Sunday morning in a puddle of self-inflicted misery and when I tune into TikTok to take my mind off the pain, I am assaulted with a never-ending stream of videos featuring people making the most of their weekends," he went on.

Clarkson managed to score of nine out of 10 points in IllicitEncounters' annual poll, giving him the title of "sexiest man".

The poll also concluded Clarkson was the sexiest man last year, and despite addressing the win, Clarkson made the point that he believes he could lose a bit of weight.

Actor Tom Holland was also in the dating site's top 10, coming in second place, with the Prince of Wales also making it to the top five.

Meanwhile, his brother Prince Harry finished far behind in 47th place.

The poll is voted on by the site's 2,000 female members, with each name being scored between one and 10.

Spokesperson at Illicitencounters.com, Jessica Leoni, stated: "Clarkson and his farm is a bit like Noah's ark, and just like the animals in that story, his victory in the Sexiest Man vote has come in twos."

Speaking to Daily Mail, she added: "We all know about his brash persona, but the latest series of Diddly Squat has shown he can tug at heartstrings too - and clearly his farmer look continues to set hearts racing.

"Just like last year's poll, we knew providing our members with a list of 50 famous names across both genders and asking them to score them on their 'sexiness' would throw up some surprises."
