Jeremy Clarkson sparks meltdown with cryptic Clarkson's Farm update amid future uncertainty: 'Pleading'

Clarkson broke the news that season four had been given the go-ahead before the third series even got underway on the global streaming service.

Ever since, speculation has been rife as to just how long Clarkson's Farm can carry on - and whether or not it would even return beyond the fourth run.

Producer and long-time Clarkson collaborator Andy Wilman addressed the possibility and surrounding doubts with Deadline following season three's premiere, telling the publication: "I’ve got no feelings on whether there’s a five or not. Jeremy’s the same. He’s like, when we’ve got nothing left to say, let’s walk away."

Clarkson's latest Instagram post involving Wilman may hint he indeed has plenty left to say as he directly hinted at a fifth season.

The Grand Tour host - who'll return for the motoring show's final-ever episode in September - shared a snap of Wilman holding a dog treat for his dog, Arya and Sansa.

In the accompanying caption, Clarkson fuelled the rumour mill as he penned: "The dogs pleading with @andy.wilman to be in season 5."

Given that season five is yet to be confirmed, it didn't take long for Clarkson's Farm fans to presume this was the former Top Gear star's way of hinting the future remains bright for the show.

"SEASON 5!!!" one excitable fan typed before a second echoed: "Waittt did he just say 5."

Elsewhere, a third asked: "Is that a (not so) subtle way of announcing that Amazon have green lit another series?"

"If it means we get a season 5, do it! We all want more @andy.wilman," added a fourth.

Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled to see if Amazon follows up Clarkson's rather loaded social media post with official confirmation.

In the meantime, Clarkson has been welcoming guests to his new pub in the Cotswolds, The Farmer's Dog, after it opened its doors for the first time on Friday, August 23.

GB News was able to attend the grand opening and grabbed a few words with Clarkson to see what kind of an impact his pub would have on British farming after he pledged to only use British produce.

"A tiny pin print," Clarkson dryly remarked. "But if everybody does it... I keep thinking if farmers get together - because you can buy a pub for chicken feed these days - get together and they share the workload it might work. I'll let you know in a year.

"It would be nice, it would be great. But if this works and it is a co-operative of farmers we've formed - there's about 10 currently - if 10 farmers get together and say, 'Let's buy the village pub', it might work, it might not, but I'll be the trailblazer. At least Amazon pays me to find out."

Clarkson's time as a novice pub owner hasn't been without its hiccups, however, including a visit from the police thanks to an error from Charlie Ireland.

He's also had to deal with the "scandalous" mark-ups he faces when trying to sell British produce compared to its foreign imported counterparts.

The Grand Tour host shared a video from the grand opening of the pub to reveal that while things appeared to run smoothly on the face of it, things were indeed a "s**t show" behind the scenes.
