Jamie Borthwick dealt blow to BBC Strictly hopes just weeks ahead of series launch as new data emerges
BBC
EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick is among the celebrities gearing up for their dance floor debut ahead of Strictly Come Dancing's series launch, but unfortunately, the actor has already been dealt a blow.
The BBC competition is returning next month, with the full line-up recently revealed. A new clue has revealed how the competition could potentially go for each of the famous faces, and it seems like it might be bad news for Borthwick, 30.
The actor was the tenth celebrity announced for this year's show and explained how excited he was about taking on the challenge.
"I had a ball doing the Strictly Christmas special last year, so when I was asked to join for this series it was the easiest yes!" he stated.
"This is a fresh challenge and it will be so different to be learning a new dance every week and for the public to have their say.
"I'm hoping to be Salsaing around Albert Square in no time and I’ll be asking my Walford Strictly alumni for some words of wisdom. See you on the dancefloor!"

Joining Borthwick on the show is Gladiators star Montell Douglas, Olympian Tom Dean, The X Factor winner Shayne Ward, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland, Love Island's Tasha Ghouri, reality star Pete Wicks, JLS star JB Gill, singer Wynne Evans, 80s icon Toyah Willcox, BBC Morning Live star Dr Punam Krishnan, comedian Chris McCausland, TV presenter Nick Knowles, former footballer and broadcaster Paul Merson and Olympian Sam Quek.
While the public hasn't seen any of the famous faces attempting to impress the judges with their moves yet, one person has shared who they predict could be dancing their way to the Glitterball Trophy - and who might not.
Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, celebrity astrologer and psychic Inbaal Honigman has revealed the contestants who could be a shoo-in for the final as well as those who could have a tougher time.
Unfortunately for Borthwick, this includes him as the soap favourite got the "anxiety-inducing" 7 of Disks tarot card. According to Honigman, this reveals his experience "won't turn out as smooth-sailing as expected," and that he could be in for a shock exit.

The card reveals that the soap star is going to struggle with the pace of the show, finding the schedule to be outside his comfort zone.
The expert went on to say the card is a one of physical discomfort, so Borthwick may be expecting the experience to be simple and easy for him, as he's done well in similar challenges before.
However, the card suggests that it might not turn out to be as smooth sailing as expected.
Others who could struggle include Dr Punam Krishnan, with the 5 of Cups tarot card suggesting she has "too much on her plate at the moment" to go far, while swimmer Tom Dean's 7 of Swords card suggests "overthinking" and that he may place "too much pressure on himself."

Fans are yet to find out who each celebrity has been paired with, which is usually revealed in the launch show.
The BBC issued a statement on Tuesday after it came under fire for its "male heavy" line-up, which saw many assuming the reason for there being more men in this year's series is thanks to the ongoing BBC "misconduct" investigation.
However, the BBC has claimed the loss of Di Prima and Pernice isn't what resulted in a male-heavy cast, insisting there is "no hard and fast rule" when it comes to picking the number of men or women in the line-up.
