James Corden and his fellow Gavin and Stacey writer Ruth Jones have confirmed they've finished writing the last ever episode of the UK TV classic.
Rumours have been rife for months that another episode of the comedy-drama was on the way after Corden quit his career in the US to move back to Britain.
There was even speculation that the BBC had entered into a bidding war with Netflix over the rights for one final episode.
But now, Corden - who plays Smithy in the series - has put any rumours to bed with an update on his Instagram page.
Alongside Jones, the pair can be seen holding aloft a script for the instalment they've written together.
"Some news… It’s official!!!" Corden began in the accompanying caption. "We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey.

Inevitably, it didn't take long for Corden's announcement to be flooded with excited reactions from members of the Gavin and Stacey fandom.
"You’ve just made my christmas!!!!" one fan penned in response before a second added: "Amazing you’re back! Not amazing that’s it’s the last ever."
"I for one cannot wait," a third added before a fourth cheekily penned: "Well it’s about f***ing time James. She’s been on one knee for what? 2 or 3 years?"
And a fifth added: "This is literally the news I've been waiting for.........I'm soooooooooooo excited .....Thank you @j_corden and ruth Jones for giving us the gift of Gavin and Stacey xxxx." (sic)
The Christmas special this year will mark five years since fans last got to see the Shipmans on-screen.
In 2019, Corden, Jones and the rest of the cast reprised their roles for another Christmas special that ended on one of TV's biggest cliffhangers.
Nessa (played by Jones) got down on one knee and popped the question to Corden's Smithy after years of fans guessing whether or not they would finally get together.
But before Smithy could provide an answer, the credits rolled and Gavin and Stacey fans were left on tenterhooks.
With the announcement of the show's return only just being announced, it's unclear exactly how the final ever episode will address the proposal.
