The TV doctor's death has seen colleagues from across channels paying tribute to the 67-year-old

This Morning presenters paid heartfelt tributes to Doctor Michael Mosley on Monday's show.

It follows the tragic update which came in on Sunday that the 67-year-old, who went missing from the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday, had been found dead.

Presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley addressed the sad news on the latest This Morning, with other co-stars joining them.

"Clearly from all our viewers and their messages as well, he will be sorely missed, we've very fond of the memories we share." Shephard announced.

Gyles Brandreth then shared some memories of Mosley, explaining: "He had an impact on millions of people.

"Even when I broke my arm a couple of years ago, he said to me, 'you've reached that age when you're starting to fall over.'

"He told me when I brush my teeth, stand on one leg, and I do it every morning and every night.

"He was a remarkable person and a great sense of humour too."

Mosley's wife Claire Bailey Mosley shared a heartbreaking statement following the news of his body being found.

"I don’t know quite where to begin with this," she remarked. "It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband.

"We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.

"I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days.

"My family and I have been hugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world. It’s clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you.

"We’re taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it.

"He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team."

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid also addressed the news as she shared her shock and sadness.

"There is a huge outpouring of love and sadness over the death of Michael Mosley," she relfected.

"People are absolutely gobsmacked on what on earth could possibly have happened. He was on this gorgeous Greek island, he'd been there before with his wife.

"He just leaves the beach to make his way to the accommodation - it just seems - everyone scratches their head.

"Had he taken a wrong turn? Perhaps he got dehydrated - his wife said he did have a bottle of water; he had his umbrella.

"There's that sense of why did it happen? Could it have been avoided? Why on earth it's taken so long to find him?"
