Dave Myers’ final Hairy Bikers journey aired on Tuesday night, just weeks following the 66-year-old’s death.
Fans were heartbroken by the poignant episode, which would mark the last of the iconic cooking duo Myers and Si King after decades of working together.
As the episode started, the best friends and co-stars reflected on their journey during the latest series, titled The Hairy Bikers Go West.
Journeying to their last leg of the tour on their signature bikes, Myers’ words to his colleague are all the more significant in light of his death.
The pair came to a stop on their bikes to discuss their plan, as Myers stated: “We’re on the final leg of this epic journey here in the West Country.”
“Yes mate, Devon and Dorset,” King, 57, replied. Myers went on to add: “I’m sure it’ll be the perfect way to top off a very special trip.”

Turning to his pal, the presenter remarked: “The West Country, Kingy, we’ve made it!”
Myers’ passion for his work was clear as he continued: “I’ve got a grin from ear to ear, It’s just been the best mate, it really has.”
“I’ve loved it,” King agreed. “What a great part of the world to finish off.”
“Yes mate, let’s make these last miles count,” Myers commented as the two continued on their bikes through the countryside.

As the episode concluded, marking the sad end of an era, both men became sentimental again.
“It’s been tough at times,” Myers confessed in the show's final moments: “I had chemotherapy all the time we’ve been filming. It hasn’t been easy… [but] we’ve got there, and it’s just a wonderful feeling.”
Myers was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in 2022, and while he kept private about the illness itself, he was candid with fans about his treatment.
Understandably, the episode left fans devastated, with many in tears as they watched the final adventure of the two men.
Fans shared on social media how the instalment had “broken” their hearts airing so soon after Myers’ death, which was announced by King last month.
