Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree are currently back in their French chateau following a rollercoaster few months that has seen them jet to the USA on tour and take part in Grand Designs Live in the UK.
The pair and their two young children Arthur and Dorothy ditched the UK for France after purchasing their rundown chateau in 2015, recently opening up on the "catalyst" reason that inspired the move.
They documented the renovation of their chateau in Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau but after the series ended in 2022, they've been keeping fans up to date with their latest adventures on their podcast, Dick & Angel's Chat...Eau.
In the latest instalment, the duo discussed their preferred travel methods given their hectic work schedule and the fact that they still regularly return to British soil despite upping sticks to the Mayenne region.
And in doing so, they revealed the Channel Tunnel is more often than not their favourite choice - while singling out a "painful" factor with one of the other options at their disposal.
"There's no stress getting there on time for your actual train," Strawbridge praised after revealing he and Adoree often buy flexi-tickets for the tunnel when they travel.

He continued: "If you book a train, you always think, 'Ah! We've got to get there!' And you're always following the clock if you've got to get a specific train.
"The thing about the flexi-ticket is you can get on the first train..." he continued before Adoree chipped in.
"It feels like a real treat and when you haven't paid that much more for it, it feels like a win-win," she said. "And we like the Euro Tunnel because -"
"We've tried the rest," Strawbridge cut in. "We've tried everything!"
Before Strawbridge could delve into the "painful" part of returning home he had in mind, Adoree commented: "You only have to be there like half an hour beforehand and it feels really quick.
"And it's convenient if it's where you (want to) come into because obviously there's no point getting the Channel Tunnel when we go and see your mum for instance in Belfast."
Strawbridge then cut in: "The thing about the Channel Tunnel of course is when you go there, you go to that part of the world, Kent.
"It's interesting because one of the things you really have to take into consideration is you do your border checks and everything before you get on the train and that can be quite painful, that can be slow at times.
"You do the French (checks), you do the British and then when you get off you drive away."
However, the checks on the tunnel sound like smooth sailing compared to ferries, as Strawbridge continued: "But at least you get it done because we've taken ferries... we've tried them all. And the time is slower on the ferries, day crossings aren't the same as night crossings for example..."

Strawbridge continued to discourage listeners from opting for the ferry mode of transport when visiting France due to the "painful" time it takes.
Before concluding the chat, Adoree heaped praise on the tunnel once more: "It's just effortless, isn't it? I know you were driving but for me personally, it's just such an easy way."
