The Escape to the Chateau star is currently on a UK stage tour with wife Angel and their two children

Dick Strawbridge, 65, has opened up on why a key moment in his and his wife's ongoing UK tour had to be scrapped due to concerns over his children.

Strawbridge and wife Angel Adoree, 46, are currently in the midst of touring up and down the UK with their children Arthur, 11, and Dorothy, 10, with their Forever Home show.

It's the first time the husband and wife duo, who became household names thanks to their Channel 4 series Escape to the Chateau, have welcomed their children to embark on the tour with them.

And speaking on their podcast, Dick & Angel's Chat...Eau, over the past few weeks, both Strawbridge and Adoree have detailed how much they've enjoyed being back in the UK for a lengthy stretch of time after upping sticks to renovate their chateau in northern France.

During their latest episode, Strawbridge and Adoree delved into how they prepare for each stage of the tour as they near the halfway point of their UK journey.

And revelations were aplenty, with the husband and wife delving into the intricacies of their makeup rituals, their "manic" and "party-like" intervals backstage, and the lengthy amount of time they spend meeting fans after each show.

Strawbridge and Adoree also touched upon a specific segment of their stage show named "Jack of All Trades" in which audience members are invited on-stage to discuss their trials and tribulations with renovations or crafts and take part in challenges.

"We love (it)... Jack of All Trades has been so much fun," Adoree said of the tour feature before Strawbridge intervened: "We don't want to give too much away about it but we have people who've answered some quiz questions in the first half (come on stage).

"(These are) people we've selected from the audience," Strawbridge continued before he corrected himself by confessing the process has had to be altered in more recent shows.

He admitted: "We have to be careful about selecting people from the audience now because my selection technique has had to change."

"I don't want to have this discussion," Adoree interrupted. "But I can't believe that you've changed it again."

Strawbridge defended the decision though and explained exactly why: "I've had to because I said to people, 'If you want to come on stage, do something to get my attention'.

"And, it started in Liverpool, but somehow people thought that taking their clothes off would get them on-stage."

"It's only their tops, it's hilarious" Adoree interjected, clearly a fan of the interactive feature in their show, but Strawbridge stood firm: "I think it's wrong, I don't think a chap should do that."

Turning his attention to 11-year-old son Arthur, Strawbridge jokingly remarked: "And when the young lady did it, Arthur nearly fainted."

Adoree and Strawbridge shared a laugh before the Escape to the Chateau host moved forward with detailing the other highlights from the tour.

Strawbridge and Adoree often discuss what their children have been up to on their podcast now Escape to the Chateau has come to an end.

Just last week, Arthur was the topic of discussion again as they spoke about a "fear" that "petrified" him that he attempted to overcome.

Arthur had a real fear of rollercoasters, so much so it left him in "tears" during a family day out before.

However, upon their most recent return to the UK, Strawbridge and Adoree beamed as they revealed he'd managed to overcome his reservations and enjoy a ride while back in the UK.
