The Hangover star plays legendary musical conductor Leonard Bernstein in Netflix's upcoming biopic, Maestro
Maestro is the upcoming biopic of composer Leonard Bernstein and his love story with his wife Felicia Montealegre.
Set to premiere on Netflix and in some cinemas on December 20, Cooper stars as Bernstein as well as direct the film, while Montealegre is portrayed by Carey Mulligan.
To set the stage for the film's release, Netflix dropped the first full-length trailer for Maestro on Tuesday.
However, the streaming service has been met with fury from a number of people who've slammed Cooper's decision to wear a prosthetic nose to for the role of Bernstein.
Bernstein was the son of Jewish parents and was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts after his mother and father immigrated from now-Ukraine while Cooper was raised Roman Catholic.
Criticism of Cooper has included fans slamming the decision to not have a Jewish actor play Bernstein, while others have claimed the prosthetic looks like a "caricature".

Taking to Twitter, one fan fumed: "Ok whose idea was it to give Cooper a fake nose to play a Jewish character I just wanna talk."
While a second blasted: "What is going on with Bradley's face! That is wrong in so many ways and is insultingly close to a caricature of a Jewish nose. Oh my god."
Another queried: "There are how many people working on this movie, day in and day out, and no one said anything?!
"Like, who thought this was a good idea? Even the prosthetics team should have been like 'really?'"
A fourth hit out: "Actual #jewface - this is Bradley Cooper & his prosthetic nose in Maestro about the life and love of Leonard Bernstein."
And a fifth echoed: "The real Leonard Bernstein did not have the funny nose that Bradley Cooper is wearing in Maestro. I’m just so tired of this. #JewFace."
However, others argued the fury was an overreaction, including one user who commented: "The world has officially gone mad!
"People are kicking off on social media because a prosthetic nose was too big! #breaking."
GB News has contacted Netflix for comment on the backlash.

"Jewface" or the appropriation of Jewish culture is a topic that has been debated in Hollywood a lot in recent years.
Just last year, for example, Oscar-winner Helen Mirren landed herself in the spotlight for playing former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir during the 1973 Yom Kippur war in biopic, Golda.
Netflix's rival streaming service Amazon Prime Video also found itself in hot water for its hit series, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
Rachel Brosnahan was the actor cast in the series to take on the lead role of Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a Jewish-American housewife who turns to stand-up comedy.
