The DJ and radio presenter worried some viewers as she battled a health issue while commentating

Glastonbury viewers have been left distracted and calling for a change after tuning into Saturday's coverage on the BBC.

Hosts Clara Amfo and Jo Whiley have been sharing the latest updates and commentary with fans as the fourth day of the UK's biggest festival commenced.

However, as the weekend's coverage kicked off it was clear Whiley, 58, was struggling with a croaky voice as she tried to speak.

There were even times Amfo had to take over commentating for her as she couldn't complete her sentences.

Taking to social media, concerned fans were quick to comment on Whiley's health issue as they pleaded with her to hand over to someone else.

On X, one viewer wrote: "Jo Whiley please rest that voice #GlastonburyFestival #GLASTONBURY #glastonbury2024."

"Somebody please give Jo Whiley some throat lozenges. Failing that a very large glass of whisky #Glasto #bbcglasto #GLASTONBURY," a second suggested.

Someone else echoed this, adding: "Can someone please give Jo a lozenger and a hot toddy for her throat, poor girl sounds so raspy. #GLASTONBURY."

"Jo whiley needs a lozenge #Glastonbury," another repeated as someone else shared: "Jo Wiley sounds like she was on the absolute lash last night."

"Why doesn’t Jo Whiley give someone else a chance to host, she can hardly talk #glastonbury," someone else asked. (sic)

It seems Whiley may have been aware about the distraction she was accidentally causing as she soon addressed her husky voice.

"Can I just say, I have been having honey and lemon," she stated an hour and a half into the BBC's coverage.

"I have been having lozenges, everything I could have possibly done I have done, and it's awful timing for this to have happened."

Turning to her co-host, she added: "Over to you," to which Amfo replied: "I can confirm Jo Whiley has made every effort to preserve that iconic voice of hers and I guarantee it will be back by the end of Glastonbury!"

Elsewhere, certain artists were causing a stir, including 80s legend Cyndi Lauper.

The 71-year-old sparked a lot of reaction after she suffered a tech issue on-stage, with some blasting her performance.

However, others defended the Girls Just Want To Have Fun hitmaker and praised her energetic show.
