BBC faces fan fury as row erupts over 'unfair' Celebrity MasterChef competition: 'That's nonsense!'
BBC
Four celebrities were back in the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen on Wednesday night with a spot in the competition's quarter-final up for grabs
BBC viewers took to the web in their droves on Wednesday evening as many were left less than impressed with the cooking show, Celebrity MasterChef.
Love Island finalist Luca Bish, actors Amy Walsh and Michael Praed, and Black Eyed Peas star Apl.de.Ap were the four hoping to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode in order to progress.
However, just days after the BBC cooking contest came under fire as fans accused one star of "misleading" viewers, it's sparked another row.
A number of the show's fanbase have slammed the latest heat of the competition for being "unfair" and giving preferential treatment to some of its stars.
The controversy stemmed from the challenges set during Wednesday's episode, which began with Praed and Apl being tasked with making Japanese soufflé pancakes with poached pear, granola, and fruit syrup.
Meanwhile, Bish and Walsh had to concoct a rosti benedict consisting of a potato pancake, poached egg, and asparagus.

Inevitably, the soufflé dish proved trickier, with Praed admitting the complexity of it led to him "misreading" the recipe.
The issue of fairness reared its head once again when the foursome was divided into pairs and sent to two separate restaurants to experience a working kitchen.
Apl and Walsh were paired together this time and sent to Hoppers, a restaurant in Soho, London with dishes steeped in Sri Lankan and Indian influences.
Meanwhile, Praed and Bish headed to BBQ joint Temper in Shoreditch, an eatery that prided itself on cooking its Latin-American-style dishes on an open fire.

Again, it was Praed and Bish who appeared to endure a much tougher experience in the kitchen with the restaurant's head chef even acknowledging the difficulty cooking over an open fire has on inexperienced chefs.
In the end, after being on the receiving end of arguably the tougher split of the challenges across the episode, it was indeed Praed who ended up going home.
As such, a number of unimpressed viewers took to Twitter, with one venting: "That nonsense was not a fair challenge #CelebrityMasterChef."
A second also poked fun at the challenges: "A soufflé vs a rösti… seems fair #CelebrityMasterchef," followed by a laughing face.

Meanwhile, a third weighed in: "#MasterChefuk #celebritymasterchef APL has an easy job compared to the other 3."
And a fourth agreed: "Amy and Apl got the better end of the deal here. #celebritymasterchef."
A fifth added to the mix: "Amy & Apil seem to be doing very little cooking in the professional kitchen compared to Michael & Luca #celebritymasterchef," they added with chin-scratching emojis.
While a sixth simply panned the entire challenge: "#celebritymasterchef I don’t like this pairs challenge!" (sic)
