The former Geordie Shore star left viewers complaining online in the series debut

Celebrity MasterChef returned on Tuesday, with the first group of famous faces battling it out to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

The BBC competition series saw reality star Charlotte Crosby showcasing her culinary skills, but just minutes into the episode many fans of the show threatend to "switch off" over the former Geordie Shore star's habit.

Television personality Crosby, 34, found fame as one of the original stars of Geordie Shore back in 2011. She starred in 12 series of the programme and was famously known for her on-off romance with Gaz Beadle.

Crosby announced her departure from the show in 2016 and has gone on to feature in other reality shows, such as Celebrity Big Brother, which saw her crowned winner of the series in 2013.

She has also starred in her own reality programme, The Charlotte Show, which premiered in March 2018. The second series aired in early 2019, which was followed in the same year by series three.

Despite her fan base though, Crosby seemed to fail to win over MasterChef fans, who accused her of being "too loud".

Crosby enthusiastically entered the MasterChef kitchen, often expressed her excitement with screams as she was given tasks by the judges.

In her introduction clip, Crosby exclaimed: "Oh my God, who would have thought it? Charlotte Crosby - now a chef!" She went on: "I am ready to blow everyone's minds."

For their first task, the celebrities had to pick a gleaming cloche. Using the hidden ingredient they reveal, they were then challenge to deliver a dish that gives their ingredient superstar status.

When it was Crosby's turn, she announced: "I'm not looking forward to this." As it was revealed her ingredient was a pigeon, she loudly gasped.

TV and radio presenter Snoochie Shy ended up being the first to leave, and upon discovering she had made it to the next round, Crosby admitted: "I cannot believe I have made it through."

She was seen celebrating with a dance around Torode as she jumped in the air and waved a tea towel.

"I'm ready to go now, I'm ready to maybe even win - I'm going to throw it out there," she added confidently.
