Actress Rebel Wilson has accused Adele of “hating” her in her new memoir which is set to be released on Thursday.
The 44-year-old Australian claims in her book that 35-year-old singer Adele, who went on a significant weight loss journey in 2020, avoids her because the two were sometimes confused for one another.
According to the Independent, one section of Wilson’s memoir, Rebel Rising, reads: “Some actresses would get offended if I called them plus-size in this book, so I have to be careful with what I say. This is why, I think, Adele hates me.
“There was a moment when she was bigger, and some people would confuse us for one another, I am assuming, because to be fair I’ve never asked her.”
She went on to write that when she’s attended the same events as the singer, Adele “always quickly” turns away if she spots Wilson heading towards her.
Referencing her character in Pitch Perfect, Wilson added: “As if my fatness might rub off on her if I were near her for more than 30 seconds. That she didn’t like being compared to ‘Fat Amy.’”

GB News has reached out to Adele’s representatives for comment.
Wilson found fame portraying roles of the “fat, funny girl, making self-deprecating jokes” in films such as Bridesmaids, and explained her Pitch Perfect contract wouldn’t allow her to lose weight.
She lost around 80lbs in 2020, explaining on her Instagram account the following year: “It first started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor was like, ‘Well, you’d have a much better chance if you were healthier.'
“That’s kind of what started it, that if I lost some excess weight that it would give me a better chance for freezing eggs and having the eggs be a better quality. It wasn’t even really myself, it was more thinking of a future mini-me, really.”

Adele has faced a backlash from fans recently, with fans blasting her “ridiculous” ticket prices for her upcoming European tour.
The singer is heading to Germany and with tickets selling out within seconds after she announced the tour, Adele was forced to add more dates.
Announcing the news of her Instagram account, she simply wrote: “Due to unprecedented demand, 2 final dates have been added.” (sic)
However, rather than being pleased by the news, some fans were left furious with Adele and claimed the prices of the tickets were too high.

Performing in the Open Air Arena in Munich, Messe, the highest price ticket stands at over €700 (£598) if fans want to be front row.
Meanwhile, the Easy On Me singer isn’t the only one to come under fire in Wilson’s memoir, with allegations made against comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen.
She said in her book the 52-year-old “sexually harassed her” on the set of Grimsby, adding she thinks he “gets off on making people feel uncomfortable”.
Speaking to The Independent, Cohen’s representatives denied the claims, adding: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
